Animals go to extraordinary lengths in order to give their offspring the best start in life. This series uncovers the weird and wonderful stories of some of these incredible parents.

In the animal kingdom, there is rarely such thing as a ‘conventional family’. This compelling series discovers why sometimes one-parent families are the best option, while at other times it pays for both parents to stick together or even to recruit extra help.

From the polar bear single mum trying to discipline her playful cubs to the Adelie penguins who share parenting and the elephants who rescue stolen calves, it's amazing what some animal parents will do for the next generation!

Combining extraordinary science and behaviour and stunning natural history footage with a contemporary sound track, Animal Super Parents is an energetic and compelling series.

BBC Earth is on Starhub Channel 407.
