National Geographic Channel follows the brave and the bold that goes beyond reason in search for knowledge and the human limit.
From following an intrepid team of bear experts in search of a Superbear (a hybrid polar-grizzly bear) to watching extreme rock climber, Alex Honnold, attempts to set a record by fee soloing a trio of harrowing cliffs without any safety lines.
The third episode is my favourite, for it features daredevil scientific explorer George Kourounis and his time of climbing experts and scientists traveling halfway around the world to tackle a descent into Turkmenistan’s methane-burning Darvaza crater. Some of you may remember it from my writing of it in Mind Bomb 025: The Door to Hell at Karakum Deert.
These people will achieve what they have set out to do, even if it means to die trying.
